Riley's 6 Month Checkup

I am happy to report Riley is doing really great at 6 months. She is 15 lbs 2 oz, 26 inches long, and her head is above average in the 75 percentile. Her daddy always said she had a big head. She had to get shots taken today and for the most part she took them like a champ. I made sure I gave her motrin before her appt, she only cried for about 2-3 minutes. I was so proud of her.
Dr. Rosser said her next appt won't be till she is 9 months and by then she will more thank likely be crawling and maybe even eating little puff snacks or cookies she can slober on. She said she can even start eating mushy foods by then too. We'll probably wait at least a month till we start giving her other things to eat besides formula and baby food. I guess we'll discuss that more then.
We're going to be taking a trip home this weekend. Probably won't post again till after we return.
I got pictures to post too! Will hopefully get that done when we get back!

Happy Father's Day

I know this post is a day late, but I think my hubby's First Father's Day was a success. He woke up to fresh coffee and me cooking breakfast. I made chocolate chip pancakes, bacon, and some sliced fruit (strawberries and kiwi). I thought it was pretty tasty. Riley and I also went to visit her daddy at work as a surprise, which is sort of a big deal considering he works an hour from home. His gift is a new brown leather recliner, which he loves. In the beginning he said no one could sit in it, but him and that's already been vetoed by Riley and I.

Chris I just want you to know how much you are appreciated. We love you so much. Riley and I are truly grateful to have you in our lives and couldn't imagine life without you!!! Hope you loved your funny Father's Day cards.

Riley is 6 Months Old Today

Dear Riley,
I can't believe today you are 6 months old. Your Dad and I are amazed at how much you have grown and changed in just this little time. You have changed our entire lives. Our priorties are different and we have realized and accepted we are now working on your time. Every decision made here on out revolves around you and truthfully we wouldn't have it any other way. You constantly remind us what is important: You.

Your little personality is not so little anymore. Everyday you seem to suprise us, whether you are reaching for the remote (your new best friend), saying "Dada", turning over constantly, and making a mess while you eat for me to clean up you have all these facial expressions that we love to see. So far I'm thinking you are going to be pretty daring. You don't seem scared of much since you're always lunging out of arms trying to grab toys or reach for Sly. You love it when your Daddy throws you up in the air or does something I think will scare you. You always seem to laugh and smile. I have also learned that you want what you want when you want it, there really is no waiting with you. One thing we have to work on is patience, which will come over time.

Last night I tried feeding you squash for the first time, which was no good. You had more on your bib and tray than I think landed in your mouth. I am happy to report that you do love your sweet potatoes along with oatmeal, carrots, green beans, peaches, and pears. You also love drinking apple and pear juice.
You are sitting up really well now, one day you sat up for 30 mins straight. You are even slowly learning to catch yourself when you start to fall over. Your favorite place to sit up and play is on your changing table where you can grab your diapers and throw them everywhere. I got a feeling you're going to be crawling soon and getting in to everything since you love to be busy like your momma.
Mommy and Daddy love you Riley and can't wait to see how much more you are going to change over the next 6 months.

"Hanging" Around the House

Weekend with the Grandparents

Riley had a great time having some bonding time with her Grandma and Grandpa.

Happy 40th Wedding Anniversary Mom & Dad

Thanks for spending your anniversary weekend with us!

Riley's New Toy

I won $100 Visa gift card at work last week in a drawing and I we decided to use it to buy Riley a new toy. I am happy to say I put it together by myself for the most part. Mom did have to help me in the end with the seat. That part got a little confusing... Riley loves her new toy!!!

RIley Just Said "Dada"

Riley just said Dada for the first time. We are beyond excited right now. Normally her sounds were more like screams that is posted in the video below, but for the past week she was making more and more sounds!! We can't believe it!!! Riley isn't even six months yet, at least not for another 5 days. She is sitting up and saying Dada. We couldn't be prouder.

Vote on the side if you can hear her saying Dada

I apologize for the video being sideways. I'm use to holding my cell upwards, but I have to remember that makes the video not appear right. I promise the video is worth being uncomfortable for just a couple of moments.

Thanks for enjoying this special moment with us!

Family Photos

Here are photos from my 25th Birthday. Chris and I got all dressed up and went out to dinner. Riley spent time with Mrs. Mary, even though she was just going to the sitter I still put her in this cute little dress, Chris' cousin Pat bought for her.

These are photos of just Riley before leaving for dinner.

Riley Loves Peaches

Here are pics of Riley eating her dinner last night. The first time I tried to feed her peaches she wasn't too happy eating them, but this time she seemed more open to them. She got quite a bit on her " I Love Daddy" bib and some on her face. I had to get pics of this for everyone to see. After making a mess she was happy to go play in the bath.
